"Surprisingly, as we were waiting for the jury to come in, I didn't feel that bad. I had some nerves and a beating heart, but it wasn't debilitating at all. After my first sentence in front of about 50 jurors and my co-worker, it all went away. As I was speaking, I felt so comfortable. I went around the room, feeling like I was connecting with each person there. Nothing was really planned, it just seemed to naturally flow from one topic to the next."
